Tchaikovsky - music without visas: a new project for the 185th anniversary of P. I. Tchaikovsky

Tchaikovsky - music without visas: a new project for the 185th anniversary of

P. I. Tchaikovsky

How to "overcome" borders without visas, and language barriers - without a

dictionary? Probably, only with the help of eternal Art - such as the works of the

great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky whose 185th anniversary will be

celebrated in the coming year. Time moves only forward, but the music of the

genius remains the heartbeat of Russia and a symbol of the Russian soul. The

launch of the project "Tchaikovsky - music without visas" with the support of the

von Meck Foundation and the Presidential fund of cultural initiatives (PFCI) was

announced on December 23, 2024.

“I would like with all the strength of my soul that my music spreads, that the

number of people who love it, find comfort and support in it, will increase”, -Pyotr

Ilyich confessed to his "guardian angel" Nadezhda Filaretovna von Meck.

Fulfilling the cherished desire of the symbol of Russian classical music, the project

team will unite more than 20 institutions bearing his bright name all over the world

- from the Russian hinterland to the far abroad. The genius of Tchaikovsky will

bring together the cities of Russia, Armenia, Argentina, Tajikistan, Mexico,

Thailand, Kazakhstan and China, creating a single cultural space and reminding of

eternal values: goodness, beauty, and compassion. Participants of the events will

have a chance to discover not only new facets of the great composer's personality,

but also their own talents under the guidance of outstanding modern musicians.

Book presentations and master classes by renowned teachers will be held. There is

no doubt that the project will become an illustration of Tchaikovsky's beautiful

musical works, for which neither translations nor visas are needed.

A series of events organized by the Nadezhda von Meck* International Charitable

Foundation in several countries stands out among the recently announced winners

of the PFCI contest for its international scope. In connection with the upcoming

185th birth anniversary of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the program of the project

named "Tchaikovsky - music without visas" the Foundation will publish a

biographical book dedicated to Tchaikovsky in Spanish and present it in several

cities in Argentina and Mexico. Besides, leading teachers of Russian music school

will hold master classes in many cities of Russia as well as in Tajikistan,

Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, China and Thailand.
